Trident Placement Services in Hampshire

Staff from Trident from Edexcel have been working with employers and schools across Hampshire to support young people into work placement for the last 35 years.

Over the next two months - the busiest time of year for work experience - over 7,000 students in Hampshire will take up their placements with local Hampshire employers.

Trident is the UK’s most established organiser of work experience with a 35 year track record of supporting young people between the ages of 14-19 to prepare for life beyond the classroom. Offered by Edexcel, the UK’s leading examining and awarding body, the Trident experience helps young people improve their employability skills and develop as individuals, as well as making the work placement process as easy as possible for employers, learners, schools and colleges.

John Kelly, Head of Trident from Edexcel said: “Trident has recently been approached by businesses across Hampshire to seek reassurance of the continuation of the service despite elements of the funding for work placement being allocated to other organisations in the area from September 2008.

“We want to re-assure all the employers and businesses we work with that Trident from Edexcel will continue to be an active player in the work experience arena across Hampshire and will  continue to offer its placement service to employers and schools in Hampshire

“Since Trident joined Edexcel at the end of  2006 we have invested heavily in developments which add value to the work placement service, and in autumn 2008 we will launch Trident Online in Hampshire.

“Trident Online is a new web-based application will transform the way employers engage with schools not only for work placement but for the whole range of engagement from offering teacher placements to providing mentoring support to learners.

“Over the next few months we will be contacting employers to encourage more to get involved with shaping students’ experience of the work place.  The service offered is an efficient, professional, work placement service that matches employers with students at no cost to the business.
